Inspiration is a tool that allows the user to create concept maps to be displayed in various formats. Once created the user view the information in a linear outline or the diagram map. The diagram can be formatted with various shapes, colours, and pictures can be inserted at various places in the diagram. It allows information to be show cased in a visually appealing mind mapping way.
Here is a sample concept map I created on Integrating Technology in the classroom.
I would employ the use of Inspiration within the Law 30 classroom through a student group presentation, specifically in Unit 3 – Civil Law. I would divide students into groups of 4-5 students. The groups would each be asked to research and then present the following comparison with examples on one on the below noted topics:
Differentiate between Civil and Criminal law in terms of:
- roles of the parties
- purpose of the law
- role of the court
- intention of the resolution
The groups would be asked to present their findings on the topics to the class using Inspiration to display their findings. The students would benefit from this activity by presenting their findings to the class in a fun and slightly informal manner by using Inspiration. It would also give them an opportunity to use computers in a course that is normally classroom based.
