A WebQuest is a research or inquiry project that is displayed on the internet and composed of web based material. The entire project or assignment is noted on the WebQuest page this typically consists of; introduction, purpose, path to follow, task, evaluation, and conclusion.  A WebQuest is a modern and appealing way to present a class project to students as it has all relevant information displayed and easily retrievable for students.
One way I would use a WebQuest within a class would be in the Psychology 30 – Unit 1 course.

I would create a WebQuest that would have the students research various theorists in groups. Depending upon the number of students groups would range from 3-6 students. The theorists would consist of: B.F. Skinner, Ivan Pavlov, Jean Piaget, Albert Bandura, Abraham Maslow, and Lev Vygotsky. For each they would seek to answer the questions; Who are these theorists? & What role did he play in developmental psychology?  With their completed research I would have the students present their findings to the class along with a sheet for each member of the class.

Here is a sample Webquest that provides a similar task on an Abnormal Psychology class project. This is a great example of a WebQuest as it is very detailed, interesting, and well put together. While the content is not the same, it is what I based the above explained WebQuest off of.  A WebQuest is useful in a classroom as it allows all of the expectations to be easily understood and retrievable for students. It presents the inquiry or project in a unique manner that will capture students’ interest.
